Minara Resources has an opportunity for a seasoned Human Resources Operations Manager to join our established and dedicated team.

Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

This role reports to the Head of People and will facilitate the effective implementation of HR operational initiatives that deliver financial, operational and efficiency improvements while focusing on our people and key business objectives. This role will provide leadership to a small team who are responsible for providing advice, support and coaching to our leaders and employees.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the HR operations team with a focus on their continual learning and development.
  • Implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Overseeing the recruitment and onboarding ensuring high-quality candidate selection and detailed reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation and regulations.
  • Implementing change management and business improvement projects.
  • Analysing, interpreting, and using data trends to make informed HR decisions and improve business processes.
  • Driving the continuous execution and improvement of HR initiatives, processes, and policies.
  • Establishing and maintaining workflows to streamline processes, identify improvement opportunities, and achieve business goals.
  • Advising and coaching senior leadership on HR/IR/ER matters, including organisation design, remuneration and benefits, talent management and succession planning.
  • Delivering regular reports and presentations to update senior leadership on progress and metrics.

About You

This role is ideal for an individual with broad HR generalist knowledge and skills, coupled with highly developed leadership and team-building abilities. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, and a strong customer service focus.

You will also have:

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or related discipline.
  • Significant experience leading, mentoring and developing a team, preferably in the mining or resources sector.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HR practices and employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and WHS Act, with a focus on managing psychosocial risks in the workplace.
  • Proven experience in enterprise agreement bargaining, having successfully undertaken this process.
  • Extensive experience with remuneration and benefits, including salary survey management, benchmarking tools, and a deep understanding of market trends.
  • Experience managing injury management processes, with a thorough understanding of applicable legislation.
  • The ability to think strategically and translate business needs into HR solutions.
  • The aptitude to generate and analyse data and communicate trends, emerging issues, and opportunities.
  • Previous experience in system implementation i.e., SuccessFactors.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with proficiency in Power BI.
  • WA ‘C’ class driver's licence.
