About The Role

Ibotta is seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist specializing in Core Data & Analytics to join our innovative team. As a key member of our Data Science team, you will leverage the latest developments in statistics and machine learning to identify strategic opportunities, support business initiatives, and generate measurable value. Your responsibilities will include building reliable machine learning models, creating greenfield opportunities that drive significant impact, and owning critical initiatives within core business domains. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, data engineers, and architects to discover, cleanse, and refine data, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights. This position offers flexibility, with options for remote work in multiple states or hybrid arrangements in Denver, Colorado, including relocation support and bonuses for those moving to the Denver metro area.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields with a proven record of impactful contributions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a closely related discipline
  • Expertise in developing, applying, and optimizing machine learning and statistical algorithms
  • Proficiency in Python, with strong skills in libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Experience with Spark/PySpark and MLOps practices is highly desirable
  • Strong statistical analysis skills, including experimental design and hypothesis testing
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling data stories and collaborate effectively across teams
