Compensation & Location

Location: Torrance, CA

Pay Range: $59.00 – $66.00 per hour (based on experience and internal equity)

Schedule: Full-time, contract; long-term opportunity

Work Type: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mainframe Business Analyst / Developer to support enterprise parts applications and supply chain systems.

This role blends business analysis, development, and solution architecture, requiring strong mainframe expertise and the ability to drive end-to-end delivery across medium to large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

• Gather and analyze business requirements for enterprise applications

• Translate requirements into functional specifications and technical solutions

• Manage assigned units of work ranging from enhancements to large-scale projects

Development & System Delivery

• Develop and support applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM, and DB2

• CICS, IMS, JCL, MQ Series EXPERIENCE MUST HAVE SKILLS

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and support UAT

• Support implementation and post-production warranty activities

Architecture & Solution Design

• Define architectural solutions to meet application and business requirements

• Support multi-tier and cross-platform system design across enterprise environments

• Align solutions with enterprise technology standards and roadmaps

Project Execution & Collaboration

• Provide status updates to project managers and team leads

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across business and IT

• Support Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies

Production Support & Optimization

• Troubleshoot issues across applications and platforms

• Support system enhancements and performance improvements

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with IBM mainframe technologies (COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM, DB2)

• Experience with MQ Series

• Experience with full SDLC including analysis, design, development, testing, & implementation

• Strong business analysis and requirements gathering experience

• Understanding of multi-tier and cross-platform architectures

• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft technologies (.NET Core, MVC, C#, Angular)

• Experience in automotive parts systems, warehousing, or supply chain

• Strong understanding of enterprise IT architecture and strategy

• 3+ years of Big 4 consulting experience

• Stable work history within large enterprise organizations
