Kalmar Automation Solutions is looking for an Automation Support Engineer, Port & Terminal Equipment to join our team supporting customers located at Pier 400 in San Pedro, CA. In this critical technical support role, you will investigate and resolve customer-reported issues, directly impacting the operational performance of our automated systems.
Compensation Data
- Base Salary: $100k - @120k
- Eligible for Annual Bonus
- Eligible for Annual Salary Review & Merit Increase

- Technical Support & Case Management: Provide responsiveness and technical support to customer-reported issues, maintaining a queue of open cases and documenting actions in Kalmar's CRM (Salesforce) and Jira.
- Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting: Replicate and validate hardware and software anomalies, debug issues, and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to bring systems back to an operational state.
- System Implementation & Upgrades: Engage regularly with customers and proactively participate remotely (and occasionally on-site) in software implementations, upgrades, and system optimizations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with Kalmar Engineering, Professional Services, and Product Management to address issues, suggest product enhancements, and coordinate "hot fixes".
- Environment Management: Assist with internal back-end customer systems, including the management and upkeep of customer data and test environments through VMware/VM Cloud environments.
- Continuous Support & Escalation: Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation, serving as the regional point of escalation for critical P1 issues during after-hours and weekends.
