VIVO is seeking a Director of Strategy who is an innovative pharma marketing and brand strategist. You analyze complex markets and get excited when you find a way to change them, you find human truths that excite clients and creative teams, and you stay involved so that the work does what it was intended to do.
You’ve helped clients truly win, whether in a critical launch, a re-positioning, or showing the impact of marketing. You have a broad set of tools to help win in pharma: unbranded education, segmentation, new indications, congress and KOL strategy, lifecycle management, and message refinement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Advise clients for brands reaching consumer and HCP audiences, helping them navigate complex categories
- Translate business challenges into clear hypotheses, strategic options, and a winning path forward
- Partner closely with client services and creative to develop work that shifts perceptions and market share
- Identify and cultivate opportunities to help clients achieve their goals
- Become an expert in designated medical specialities/categories and grow the firm’s collective knowledge
- Bring data fluency to analyzing opportunities, developing goals, and measuring success
- Advance the strategy discipline by contributing to our toolset, processes, and ways of thinking
- Be a culture carrier: live the VIVO Core Values, promote inclusion and equity, celebrate great work, and support your teammates generously
WHAT YOU BRING
- 4+ years of experience in a pharma creative agency
- Direct experience as the strategy lead on at least one therapy (Rx or biologic) where you wrote creative briefs, led client presentations, and guided work
- Demonstrated ability to advise clients — identifying options and helping them commit to a direction
- Experience analyzing categories — market sizing/growth, company and competitive assessment
- Experience leading market research — like IDIs, focus groups, surveys, and synthesizing
- Experience collaborating with other disciplines — market access, medical affairs, regulatory, and clinical development
- Highly driven and curious, always looking for what’s next
- Proficiency with tools like AI stacks, Google workspace, Slack, Zoom, and common research platforms
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, congresses, adboards, workshops, and pitches (up to ~25%)
