Founding Software/AI Architect

ORAcraft is hiring: Founding Software / AI Architect (Remote, B2B contract)

ORAcraft is a services consulting company — and alongside the consulting practice, we're building a new product. We're hiring one architect to design and build its core.

The hard part of this role isn't calling an LLM. It's building a system that stays correct, reproducible, and trustworthy when its most powerful component is non-deterministic by design. That distinction is the job.

You would own the architecture of the product end to end — including its central engineering problem: wrapping probabilistic AI models in deterministic, verifiable systems.

What you'd own:

• End-to-end architecture of a multi-agent AI system

• Deterministic execution around non-deterministic models — typed contracts, structured outputs, validation, idempotency, replayable workflows

• Agent orchestration — LangGraph or equivalent (directed graphs, typed state, checkpointing, critic/retry loops)

• Durable workflow orchestration — Temporal or equivalent, where deterministic workflow code is non-negotiable

• RAG and MCP — retrieval pipelines over vector stores, and tool integration via Model Context Protocol

• The reliability questions: how you test, guard, evaluate, and trust the system in production

What we're looking for:

• Deep expertise in deterministic, reproducible software — you know how to make a non-deterministic system behave predictably, and you can explain exactly how

• Proven experience architecting agentic / multi-agent systems that run in production — not demos

• Hands-on depth with LangGraph (or comparable) and a durable workflow engine like Temporal

• Strong RAG and MCP experience — retrieval, embeddings, vector search, tool servers • 8+ years shipping software, with 3+ years on production AI/LLM systems

• Strong backend engineering — TypeScript/Node.js and/or Python; solid API and data modeling; PostgreSQL

• Comfortable with Docker, cloud deployment, observability, and distributed-systems thinking

• A true architect — owns decisions, writes the ADRs, defends them

The setup:

• Fully remote, B2B contract

• Europe-based preferred; open globally if you have several hours of daily overlap with Central European Time

• Compensation is competitive and discussed early with shortlisted candidates

• An NDA is signed before we share the full picture — what we're building and why it matters

We can't describe the product in a public post. What we can promise: the problem is large and real, the engineering is genuinely hard, and whoever takes this role shapes the technical foundation of the company.
