SQL Database Administrator in GREATER RENO AREA

Summary: Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and consistency. This role requires a service-oriented mentality, a high sense of ownership of the projects and tasks assigned, and a constant focus on improving the processes and operations of the database environment. Works directly with development and operational teams to design, test, and deploy data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server software and related products.
  • Manage database security, roles, and user accounts to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance tuning and optimization.
  • Conduct regular database maintenance tasks, such as indexing, integrity checks, and storage management.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions.
  • Support application development and deployment utilizing continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) workflows.
  • Assist in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving database reliability and performance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements: To perform this job successfully an individual must have the following:

  • A bachelor's degree in software engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA and equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience with SQL Server 2014/2016/2017/2019/2022.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and T-SQL.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server reporting services (SSRS), SQL Server integration services (SSIS), and SQL Server analysis services (SSAS).

The compensation range for this position is between $95,600 and $110,998 based on a full-time schedule. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications and experience. Additionally, this position may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commissions plans as well as relocation or cost of living adjustments.

Your total compensation (pay, benefits, and bonuses) will be adjusted based upon your job classification, hours worked, and length of employment. Please note that benefits are subject to change.
