We are looking for several Software Developers on ICP, the ITER Collaboration platform itself, related to web applications and solutions using Microsoft technologies, for a work that can be performed in any of our Starion premises, like Madrid (Es) or Frascati area (IT): 1 young graduate or junior with a first experience and 1 Intermediate level (with 2 or 3 years of experience).


The main objective will be to develop software applications in several domains in line with your experience, background and learning interests, following Agile Framework (Jira and Confluence for the definition of the Sprints). The size of the software development team is more than 10 people, working from different countries, counting with the guidance of several technical leaders and the project manager.


About the client and location

ITER ("The Way" in Latin) is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today, located in southern France, with 35 nations collaborating to build the world's largest system to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our Sun and stars.

The service is defined with a mix of on-site and off-site positions, to cover in-house software design, development, testing and deployment of various in-house developed applications and central database containing all the ITER project related data (e.g. System Components, etc.).

The complexity of the several tools and types of data used by ITER requires a careful integration and management of the data, using Microsoft database web applications, BPM tools and a broad range of technologies.


Tasks and activities

ICP is a in house developed framework used as standard Content Management System, allowing to create content, workflow and roles. It allows complex workflow linked to various other systems and tools (Active Directory, messaging, Rest Api, databases, etc.).

The scope of work will include:

  • Develop, test, deliver, debug and implement changes on various technologies and platforms, following Agile environment with the guidance of the technical leader.
  • Add modules to an existing asp.net application, expand or change existing modules, creating or changing WCF services, creating or extending rest APIs, and using APIs to create/update data and contents.
  • Integrate third party libraries (PDF, Active Directory).
  • Develop or maintain .net core backend Services.


Skills and experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • Proven experience with REST, Micro-Services, Messaging Systems and similar architectures
  • Experience in several of the following technologies and tools: Angular, VB.Net, Asp.Net, C#, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Proven experience with testing services for web applications and solutions
  • Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
  • Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

  • Experience in Agile environment, working with heterogeneous and international teams, estimating and defining user stories.
  • Experience with integrating SW Solutions with APIs of commercial applications (e.g. SAP). If possible, also covering some other like Primavera, COBRA, SmartPlant, Cleopatra.
  • Proven experience with Mobile applications and solutions using Flutter.
