SALARY: $130,000-$150,000 + 13% bonus
*RELOCATION PACKAGE OF MINIMUM $5000 FOR RELOCATION TO OTTAWA*
Required Skills & Experience
- 9+ years of relevant industry experience working in network engineering or software engineering, with 2+ years in an architect position
- Experience developing Software Defined Network (SDN) applications and real-time network controllers in accordance with cloud native architecture principles
- Familiarity with virtualization, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures and distributed storage systems
- Must be able to obtain a CGP Clearance (Canadian Citizen or PR)
- Bachelor's degree in network engineering, software engineering or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with critical 59 redundancy planning for ensuring network stability
- Familiarity with satellite and wireless telecommunications
- Familiarity with routing algorithms, optimization problems and Machine Learning
- Experience with Cloud and DevOps is an asset
- Experience creating technical architecture and design specifications to drive the network operating system
Ability to review and approve development solution documents, internal and external test strategies, plans and scripts
Job Description
A satellite communications employer located in Ottawa, ON is looking to bring on a SDN Controller Architect for its exciting new greenfield project. The SDN Controller Architect will lead the architectural design of the Constellation Network Operating System and its integration with other internal systems, in particular the Operational Support System (OSS) and the data plane. The SDN Controller Architect will be responsible for the modeling and documentation of the design, the specification of the interfaces with network systems and components, and the definition of integration activities. An Aerospace or Telecommunications background will stand out to this team.
