Senior/Staff Backend Software Engineer
Location: Seattle | On-Site
About the Role:
We're building the infrastructure that powers the $100B U.S. online food delivery market. Our platform gives food and beverage operators the kitchen infrastructure and software they need to expand their operations with minimal upfront capital. We're $850M funded and operating at the intersection of real estate, logistics, AI, and robotics.
We're hiring a senior to staff level Backend Engineers in Seattle who are excited to contribute across the stack—whether your strength is infrastructure, platform, or product-facing systems. Your work will be mission-critical: the systems you build and optimize power real-world operations at massive scale, directly affecting how restaurants grow and how customers eat.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and optimize backend systems that power mission-critical, high-scale applications across our platform
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems that support food operators and delivery workflows at scale
- Work across relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) to ensure performance, reliability, and data integrity
- Deploy and manage services on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) with an eye toward uptime and operational excellence
- Debug complex production issues and drive improvements in system reliability and performance—with a clear articulation of business impact
- Collaborate across engineering and product teams, contributing to architecture decisions and mentoring where applicable

You'll Thrive Here If You
- Have 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, with a track record of building and operating production systems at scale
- Come from a high-growth tech startup, unicorn, or top-tier public tech company—you know what it takes to build systems that don't break under pressure
- Are proficient in Java or Go and can hit the ground running in a modern backend codebase
- Have solid experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and understand how to design for performance
- Bring strong debugging and problem-solving instincts—you don't just fix bugs, you understand root cause and communicate impact clearly
- Are ready and excited to be in the office 5 days a week in a collaborative, in-person engineering culture
