Job Title: Process Engineer

Location: Conway, SC Area (Onsite – Near Myrtle Beach)

Duration: Direct Hire

Salary: DOE + Relocation and Excellent Benefits


Requirements:

Must have mechanical/process engineering background with 3+ years of manufacturing experience, along with hands-on experience using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD for equipment, tooling, or layout design.


Job Duties:

  • For smooth migration from initial sample to production, analyze product and process capability of samples with sample shop members
  • Develop/modify/improve production process with Operation/Process Engineering team to achieve target quality, cost, delivery and productivity
  • Establish safety procedures for individuals and equipment operations
  • Design and plan equipment layout using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Create and modify drawings for tooling, fixtures, and equipment components using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Estimate production costs
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues
  • Optimize existing manufacturing processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity or capital investment with Operation and/or Process Engineering team for continuous cost reduction and/or business expansion
  • Analyze customer input from Sales team for new inquiries or improvement requirements, then prepare company output (proposal) including technical drawings and specifications for custom products
  • Analyze supplier input/requests from Procurement team regarding new equipment or product specifications, and prepare corresponding technical proposals
  • Prepare and update component drawings and specifications using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD for vendor communication
  • Calculate cost for QRF, provide feedback to Sales, and evaluate pricing proposals with Procurement
  • Conduct product and component design reviews with consideration of manufacturing capability, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Prepare FMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions for samples and production
  • Prepare/review quality-related documentation (PPAP, audits, 8D, etc.) and coordinate with QA and other teams
  • Participate in global product and process development initiatives
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed for technical support and collaboration
  • Spend 80%+ of time on the plant floor
  • Work weekends or extended hours as needed

Key Success Factors (First 6–12 Months):

  • Hands-on approach to executing projects
  • [0–3 months] Build understanding of current processes and align with Product, Process, and Equipment teams
  • [3–12 months] Execute prioritized improvements and deliver measurable impact in cost, quality, and productivity

Attributes / Skills Required:

  • Working knowledge of equipment design, process development, and PDCA cycles
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD (2D/3D CAD) for equipment layout, tooling, and component design
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or materials-related manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of statistical quality analysis and process control
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving ability in a manufacturing environment

Experience / Education:

  • BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Science, or related Engineering field
  • Experience using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience with machine/equipment design or layout preferred
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills, including QC tools and SPC
