Ryvu Therapeutics is a clinical-stage drug discovery and development company focused on novel small molecule therapies that address emerging targets in oncology.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cheminformatics to join our Data Science team. As part of the team, your role will involve developing new tools and workflows for computational drug discovery with the particular focus on adopting machine learning methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cheminformatics, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for designing and implementing strategic development directions and delivering solutions that create substantial value within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development and deployment of computational drug discovery tools and platforms to support scientists in our Cheminformatics/CADD and Medicinal Chemistry teams
Keep abreast of scientific developments in computational drug discovery and incorporate relevant technologies into our solutions to meet our scientific and business requirements
Work in close collaboration with our AI researchers to drive scientific method development in AI assisted drug design
Communicate effectively with members of the Data Science, IT, Medicinal Chemistry and Novel Target teams
Present project updates, findings, and strategic plans to senior management and stakeholders
YOUR BACKGROUND
MSc/PhD in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics or a related discipline with demonstrable experience in scientific software development
Strong and demonstrable programming and technical skills in Python including cheminformatics packages eg. RDKit and ML eg. Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikitlearn
3+ years of industry experience, or 1+ years in industry plus 3+ years academic experience in cheminformatics or a closely related discipline
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically
Proven track record in project management and the ability to deliver complex projects on time
Strong communication skills, especially when working within multi-disciplinary teams
Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in cheminformatics
Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable Skills
Practical experience with Kubernetes and Docker
Experience developing web apps and services using Streamlit or FastAPI
Experience in building SQL queries and building and maintaining PostgreSQL databases
Thorough understanding of drug discovery principles, such as medicinal chemistry fundamentals, structural biology, ADME and assay technology
