DevOps Engineer in UNITED KINGDOM

Broster Buchanan are partnered with a multi award winning data technology company within the financial services industry who are looking to recruit a permanent DevOps Engineer. This is a new role created due to continued company growth and work initially on legacy systems and then move to newer technologies and systems.


This role is being offered on a full remote basis and with a salary of £55k - £65k for the right person.


Responsibilities:


  • Analyse and understand existing legacy C# codebases utilising ASP.NET Web API and SQL Server.
  • Collaborate to refactor and modernise legacy code
  • Design, develop, and deploy new applications leveraging modern technologies and best practices.
  • Utilise cloud-native paradigms and microservices architecture principles.
  • Implement containerisation using Docker for efficient deployment and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Git and GitHub.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  • Utilise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to manage cloud infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, security policies, and VPNs to ensure secure access and data protection.
  • Utilise PowerShell scripting for automating operational tasks within the Windows environment.


Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a DevOps/Software Engineer
  • Proven experience with C# v6+ and ASP.NET Web API development.
  • Experience working with SQL Server databases and writing SQL queries.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles with AWS being a must have
  • Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitHub and Docker containerisation.
  • Working knowledge of firewalls, security best practices, and VPNs.
  • Some experience with PowerShell scripting.


Nice to have:


  • Proficiency in Python programming and libraries like Pandas.
  • Experience with WPF application development.
  • Knowledge of Entity Framework for data access.
