Position Overview

As the Payroll Manager at PlaySide, you'll oversee payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. You will manage payroll processes, stay updated with laws and tax requirements, and drive continuous improvement. You will address payroll issues, provide customer service, collaborate with teams, assist with compliance reporting, generate reports, post payroll journals, reconcile accounts, process PAYG, manage payroll tax, handle superannuation payments, and support administrative tasks.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Owning end-to-end payroll processing for PlaySide, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness for Australia and New Zealand, including future APAC expansions.
  • Managing the payroll process for 300+ staff, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Staying up-to-date with payroll laws and tax requirements across APAC, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring accurate payroll calculations and data entry.
  • Addressing complex payroll issues, providing excellent customer service, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Assisting with compliance reporting, including WGEA.
  • Collaborating with People & Culture, Finance, Operations, IT, Government Agencies, Auditors, and Third-Party Service Providers.
  • Generating and sharing payroll reports, posting payroll journals, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Processing PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation payments.
  • Assisting the AP function with administrative tasks like bank reconciliations and invoice approvals.


What You Bring to The Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPP or GPMI designation is a plus.
  • Extensive payroll experience in Australia, with expertise in complex payroll processes and APAC compliance.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor legislation in Australia and APAC.
  • Proficient in payroll software like EH, ADP, Workday, and advanced in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Exceptional communicator with cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and solution implementation skills.
