About The Opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic Business Analyst (s) to assist in the delivery of major ICT projects and programs in the Northern Territory. The Business Analyst will be responsible for providing a full range of Business Analyst activities.
The Business Analyst is required for a period of 12 months from August 2024 (or sooner) based on an 8-hour day/40-hour week onsite in Darwin NT.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The Business Analyst will be responsible for the following activities:
- Document business processes, including process objectives/outcomes, roles, responsibilities, policies and process maps, according to business standards.
- Work with key staff from several diverse business units to gather and document business specifications and translate those into functional and non-functional requirements.
- Assist SMES in prioritising business requirements.
- Tracking business requirements through to the PWC business requirements lifecycle.
- Provide support to stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Assist with go-live and post-go-live activities such as Production Verification Testing (PVT).
- Work with key staff from diverse business units to implement suitable business metrics and business and technology changes.
- Document Business Requirements Specifications and Business Cases.
- Work with NT Government and other vendors/third parties as required.
- Carry out duties in accordance with Power and Water's safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.
SELECTION CRITERIA QUESTIONS
Essential
- Business Analyst with between 2-4 years of experience working on ICT projects with enterprise systems.
- Experience in gathering business requirements and aligning them with strategic drivers.
- Ability to explain complex concepts, processes, solutions, project scopes, business needs, project limitations, and IT architectures to various backgrounds and audiences.
- Capability to deliver business analysis artefacts on time and within the expected quality standards.
- Ability to receive and implement feedback from peers and SMEs.
- Previous experience in conducting business analysis and Business Process Mapping and improvement.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into succinct requirements.
- Experience eliciting and validating requirements during User Acceptance Training (UAT).
- Previous experience in discovering and mapping complex process flows with Business Process Mapping Notation 2.0 using MS Visio Professional.
- Demonstrated history of executing business analysis plans for delivering Business Analysis artefacts.
- Experience in applying Business Analysis techniques to resolve IT-related issues.
- High level of written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships and information transfer at all levels.
- Ability to adapt to changes and willingness to learn new skills and methods.
- Experience working independently and, in a team environment that can accommodate changing and competing priorities.
Desirable - Previous experience working in a utility environment.
- Previous experience in working with Prince 2/Agile environment to drive delivery.
- Experience in using Jira and Confluence and the following notations and methodologies:
- Unified Model Language
- ITIL
- SCRUM
- TOGAF
