Job Description
Seeking candidates to join the Professional Services (Software Services) team as a UNIX System Administrator. This team is a global team of engineers working to deliver and operate high quality and robust software to help customers achieve their goals and solve real-life networking problems. As a UNIX System Administrator on the team, you will be expected to install, configure, and maintain UNIX-like systems within both Arista and customer environments.
Essential Qualifications and Attributes:
-Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
-Practical experience managing and troubleshooting Linux systems.
-Familiarity with Bash shell scripting.
-Experience with writing and reviewing Method of Procedures (MOPs).
-Understanding of IP networking.
-Fluency in English.
-Personable with excellent communication skills.
-Great problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
-Keen intellect with willingness to keep learning and developing.
Desirable Qualifications and Attributes:
-Practical experience managing and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (and derivative) systems.
-Familiarity with Ansible, or similar configuration management tooling.
-Experience with managing and monitoring containers in a Kubernetes environment.
-Knowledge of SNMP.
-Experience with tuning alert thresholds in system monitoring tooling.
-Experience with Splunk, or similar log analysis platforms.
