Brooksource is seeking a skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in building robust test automation frameworks using Playwright, Typescript, and DevOps tools to join our Fortune 75 Telecommunications partner on their Charlotte campus. The ideal candidate will play a role in ensuring the quality and reliability of their software products through the development and maintenance of comprehensive test suites and automation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient test automation frameworks utilizing Playwright and Typescript, tailored to meet the specific needs of our software products.
• Integration with CI/CD: Integrate automated tests into continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines using GitLab to ensure timely and consistent feedback on software quality.
• Containerization: Utilize Docker for containerization of test environments and execution, ensuring reproducibility and consistency in testing processes.
• Orchestration: Deploy and manage test environments and infrastructure on Kubernetes, optimizing resource utilization and scalability.
• Version Control: Maintain and manage test codebase using Git, ensuring version control best practices are followed and facilitating collaboration within the development team.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring solutions and generate comprehensive test reports utilizing Elasticsearch, enabling quick identification of issues and performance trends.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, quality assurance engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and contribute to the overall software development lifecycle.

Requirements:

Playwright professional experience is absolutely required for this role

• 5+yrs of professional experience as a Software Engineer in Test (SDET)
• 1+yrs of professional experience with Playwright including a strong understanding of software testing principles and best practices.
• 3+yrs in scripting and programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation and infrastructure development.
• 3+yrs of professional experience with DevOps tools including Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (preferably Git), and automated deployment strategies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a proactive and collaborative approach to addressing challenges.
• Knowledge of AWS is preferred.
• Previous experience having built out a Playwright framework with Typescript is preferred.

Details:

• W2 contract with benefits (or C2C if visa sponsorship is required)
• Contract through at least the end of 2024
• Hybrid in south Charlotte (relocation candidates will be considered but NOT remote candidates)
