Senior Game Programmer (C#)

📍 New Zealand, Auckland (relocation support available), Full time, hybrid


We’re working with an independent game studio developing a range of PC titles, with a strong focus on open-world, simulation, and systems-driven gameplay. They’re looking for a Senior Game Programmer (C#) to help build and iterate on gameplay systems using a modern, custom-built development framework. This setup allows engineers to focus on gameplay and systems programming, while leveraging high-performance underlying technology for graphics, networking, and scalability. You’ll be working in a highly iterative environment, contributing directly to gameplay, collaborating with designers, and helping ship features quickly to players.


What you’ll be doing:

• Rapidly prototyping and iterating on gameplay systems in C#

• Adapting and refining code based on design feedback and playtesting

• Debugging, profiling, and optimising systems to improve player experience

• Collaborating closely with designers and other engineers

• Contributing to overall game direction and player experience

• Providing feedback to improve internal tools and workflows

• Engaging with player communities and feedback channels


What we’re looking for:

• 8+ years of experience in software or game development

• Strong professional experience with C#

• Experience working in collaborative programming teams

• Solid understanding of gameplay systems or game architecture

• Passion for building and improving games through iteration and player feedback


Nice to have:

• Experience with game engines or graphics APIs
