Venture Up are working with a leading travel tech company based in Munich who are recruiting for a Data Scientist to join their team on a permanent basis.

You will be part of the Business Intelligence department, which consists of the Data Science, Data Analytics, and Data Engineering teams. The Data Science team, composed of other experienced and passionate data scientists, is responsible for everything related to data science and machine learning. You will be working on various topics such as rankings, recommendations, user segmentation, user lifetime value, business forecasts, etc.

Tech Stack

• Flexible data science environment (Python, Sagemaker)
• Database: AWS Stack (Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3).
• Data Pipelines: Airflow, DBT.
• Data Visualization: Looker.

Your role in this journey

• You will work in a squad-based organization with your team of data scientists, data analysts, and data engineers. Together with your team, your are responsible for developing and improving our machine learning strategy company-wide.
• You will work on a diverse set of projects for different business departments within the company, finding opportunities and solving business challenges with Data Science solutions.
• You will be responsible for intelligently utilizing our large data sets, creating valuable models such as a booking cancellation model, churn predictions, customer service ticket forecast, revenue optimisation as well as marketing channel allocation.
• You will constantly conceive and bring models into production, monitor them, and iterate upon your observations to improve their performance.
• 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, tackling business challenges using Data Science, Predictive Analytics, and Machine Learning.
• A degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Proven track record in leading Data Science projects and creating a business impact.
• Good business understanding and experience in managing different business stakeholders.
