About the product
Our Manufacturing Division builds its analytical products in a centralized ecosystem. Each product is trying to satisfy the need of a particular business unit for data-driven insights that help propel the business forward. The solution is heavily leveraging AWS technologies as well as many other state-of-the-art technologies. Most of the product team is based and operated from the Prague IT hub.
Position Overview
This role is acting as Associate Scrum Master dedicated to a single Data product within our analytical portfolio. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Product Owner in the delivery of value, by identifying and removing obstacles for the product team and designing and/or improving processes.
The Scrum Master should acts as a servant leader, focusing on empowering the product team and coaching team members towards an agile mindset. We are looking for a hands-on person that is invested into the team’s internal processes and dynamics while taking ownership for removing obstacles caused by external factors and dependencies that may hinder the team’s progress. Additionally, we are looking for someone passionate about growing their understanding of agile methodology outside the standard software engineering setting.
The analytical space varies from the standard software engineering practices. The Scrum Master is responsible for optimizing the agile methodology to account for specific aspects of analytical work (e.g. external dependencies to vendors and other company teams, high-technical complexity, parallel work,..)
Role Description
- Take ownership for all the teams agile practices and meeting facilitation of agile ceremonies;
- Coaching team members in self-management and sense of ownership;
- The ownership and responsibility for the continuous improvement of team processes, empowering the team towards optimized delivery, knowledge management, and information sharing;
- Collaborate with other product teams and their Scrum Masters on platform level (above product) for coordination and processes;
- Helping the Scrum Team and Product Owner to build a clear and concise Product Backlog;
- Close collaboration with the Product Owner to make sure that the work is broken down and understandable for the team;
- Take ownership for managing and monitoring external dependencies to the team’s work;
- Build channels for continuous communication and feedback look from/to stakeholders and management;
- Be responsible for the well-being and sense of safety within the team (make it fun!)
Desired Skills & Experience
(This role is open also to less experienced and aspiring scrum masters)
- 2+ years experience working in Scrum, Kanban, or, other Agile frameworks good understanding of underlying principles
- Ability to think critically and tailor agile practices and processes for the need of the team and the specificities of the analytical domain;
- Relevant experience with team management;
- Understanding JIRA and Confluence and being able to propose customizations and improvements in both toolsets;
- Previous experience as a Scrum Master (or similar coaching role) with a focus on continuous improvement of cross-functional team(s);
- Communication skills, including the ability to ask the right questions and get into the core of a topic or a task;
- Time management skills, including knowing when to start and stop a topic in a meeting;
- Experience with Standard project management is a benefit;
- Experience with system validation is a benefit;
- Experience with Analytics, Data lake and Data warehousing, AWS Cloud services, and similar technologies is a benefit.
