Technical Lead in FRANCE

We are looking for Technical Leaders with at least 10 years of experience, oriented to services and development of high-quality solutions and experience to lead Agile teams, to be based in the beautiful city of Saint-Paul-Lez-Durance (FR).

The main objective will be to conduct the technical solutions helping the team achieving the goals, taking into account your expertise in the architecture, and working in Agile Framework (Jira and Confluence for the definition of the Sprints). The team will have more than 10 people, working from different countries.

About the client and location

ITER ("The Way" in Latin) is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today, located in southern France, with 35 nations collaborating to build the world's largest system to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our Sun and stars.

The service is defined with a mix of on-site and off-site positions, to cover in-house software design, development, testing and deployment of various in-house developed applications and central database containing all the ITER project related data (e.g. System Components, Manufacturing, Engineering Diagrams and Drawings).

The complexity of the several tools and types of data used by ITER requires a careful integration and management of the data, using Microsoft database web applications, BPM tools and a broad range of technologies.

Tasks and activities

The scope of work will include:

• Interface with the customer and project manager to support the definition of the roadmap, the backlog, and sprints, having into account the design dependencies and programmatic constraints. To that end, will need to write and estimate User Stories.
• Responsible for overall Project/Epic delivery for the involved team of Developers and QA.
• Discuss with users or Business Analyst to get requirements. Doing presentations to help on decision-making related to the evolution of the systems.
• Participate to Tech Lead reviews.
• Leading the collaborative content management solutions, business process management solutions, and event-based service-oriented integrations, based on Microsoft technologies.
• Leading the design of database driven web applications: Defining data structure of applications, Application Modules and their interfaces, and Designing SW layers and dependencies.
• The applications are based on aps.net (asp.net controls, pages, expanding or changing modules, etc.). As usual part of the Sprints, it will be necessary to create or change WCF services, create or extend rest APIs, consume APIs to create/update data and contents, develop or maintain .net core backend Services, integrating third party libraries (PDF, Active Directory), Develop or update mobile applications (Flutter technology).
• Develop and fix urgent/complex escalated topics.
• Interface with the user support team to plan SW patches and releases as needed ;
• Interface with test teams to support the planning of global service testing.
• Interface with Quality Assurance and Configuration Management team for the continuous deployment and improvement of the applications and processes.
• Writing technical documentation.

Skills and experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:

• University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a relevant field.
• At least 10 years of experience in the IT sector.
• Proven experience in BPM systems working with Microsoft environments (process modelling, REST APIs, Micro-Services, Messaging Systems and similar architectures).
• Proven experience in leading database driven web applications, working with asp.net controls, and modules.
• Proven experience in custom web-based database driven solutions, using: Angular, VB.Net, Asp.Net, C#, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Proven experience with testing services for web applications and solutions.
• At least 2 years proven experience in Agile environment, working with heterogeneous and international teams, estimating and defining user stories.
• Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
• Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

• Experience with integrating SW Solutions with APIs of commercial applications (e.g. Primavera, COBRA, SmartPlant, Cleopatra, Matrix)
• Experience with testing services for web applications and solutions with mobile devices using Flutter.
