About Us
We're a US-based insurtech startup helping consumers compare insurance and save money. Our MVP is live and we're looking for a senior developer to join our small founding team in Bohol and build out the full product.
This is not a BPO or outsourcing role. You'll work directly with the founder, make real architecture decisions, and build the core product. If you want to be an early employee at a startup rather than a cog in an agency, this is for you.
What You'll Build
- Insurance quote comparison engine with carrier API integrations
- User onboarding and policy management flows
- Cross-platform mobile app (iOS + Android via Capacitor)
- Push notifications, real-time alerts, and user dashboard
- Payment processing and checkout flows

Requirements
- You've shipped production apps used by real customers — not just tutorials and side projects
- Deep expertise in Next.js and React (server components, app router, SSR/SSG, API routes — you know the internals, not just the docs)
- You've built and deployed cross-platform mobile apps (Capacitor, React Native, or Ionic) that are live in the App Store / Google Play
- You can design a database schema, write efficient queries, and optimize for scale (PostgreSQL preferred)
- You've integrated third-party APIs in production — payment processors, data providers, auth systems — and dealt with the edge cases that come with them
- Strong quantitative background — you're comfortable with statistics, probability, data modeling, or actuarial concepts. CS + Math/Stats double major types thrive here.
- You can look at a dataset and immediately think about what to build with it — not just how to display it
- You write tests because you want to, not because someone told you to
- You can take a Figma mockup or a rough idea and turn it into a working feature by end of day
- You're comfortable owning the full stack — frontend, backend, infra, deployment
- Based in Bohol OR willing to relocate (relocation support available)
- Strong English communication — you can explain technical tradeoffs clearly
