The IT Systems department consists of several enabling teams whose mission is to establish IT-solutions that will help reMarkable as a company create competitive edge, and enable further growth. The focus is on designing, developing, and maintaining critical backend systems and services that support important business processes.
Role
As a
Cloud Engineer, you will function as an SME, and play a central role in the design, setup, and management of our cloud-based infrastructure. You will work closely with both the Data Platform and Integration team, to ensure seamless and efficient operations, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices in software development and DevOps. With a high level of ownership and being able to make an impact, this is how you will spend your days:
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure solutions
- Own and build enabling platforms for other development and engineering teams in IT Systems
- Monitor, analyze, and report on cloud environments with a focus on performance optimization relevant to business operations
- Collaborate with IT engineering and development teams to tailor cloud solutions that support their application deployment
- Provide support and troubleshooting for cloud-related issues, with a focus on minimizing impact on business operations
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for automated and reliable deployment across diverse operational systems
- Collaborate on robust security measures are in place to protect data and infrastructure within a multi-disciplinary IT environment
Likely success factors for this role include
- Curiosity about new technologies and willingness to learn new things
- 3+ years of experience in cloud services (Google Cloud, AWS or Azure)
- Collaborating and building relationships; you will be working with many different teams and connecting with people
- Enjoying problem solving complex issues different teams face on infrastructure level
- Taking ownership of what you create and fix your own legacy and debt
- Proficiency in technologies like serverless computing
- Experience with automation tools and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform)
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Go or similar
