The Opportunity:
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to join our collaborative, fully remote team. This role reports directly to the Director of Payroll and plays a key part in ensuring operational excellence and compliance across our payroll function.

- Lead and oversee end-to-end payroll processing across multiple client accounts
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll cycles, including salaried, hourly, commissions, and bonuses
- Prepare and submit payroll tax remittances, Records of Employment (ROEs), and all statutory filings
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation and regulatory requirements
- Review and validate wage calculations, overtime, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings
- Manage direct deposits and payroll tax filings
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately
- Serve as the primary point of contact for complex payroll-related inquiries
- Prepare payroll reports to support internal reviews, audits, and client reporting needs
- Support payroll system optimization, implementations, and vendor collaboration
- Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including experience in a senior or lead capacity
- Strong expertise in Canadian payroll legislation and tax regulations
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-client or multi-entity payroll environments is an asset
- Proficiency in payroll software systems and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Experience with benefits administration and compliance management
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- PCP or CPM designation (or working toward certification) is considered an asset
