About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled System and Virtualization Consultant to join our client's team in Germany on a fully remote basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the client's virtualized environments, ensuring the smooth operation of their IT infrastructure, and supporting the deployment of healthcare technology solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage virtualized environments using VMware vSphere, ESXi, and NSX-T to support healthcare technology applications.
  • Oversee and maintain the virtual infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Perform regular system and software upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtualization, storage, and network configurations, with a focus on minimizing downtime for healthcare services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project requirements and deliver solutions tailored to the healthcare industry.
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Document configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with healthcare industry standards.


Technical Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere, ESXi, and NSX-T.
  • Proficiency in managing and configuring storage solutions such as SAN, NAS, and DAS.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and management.
  • Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning (e.g., Veeam, Zerto).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Understanding of healthcare technology applications and data security requirements.


Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in system administration and virtualization.
  • Relevant certifications such as VCP (VMware Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or with healthcare technology solutions is a significant advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus
