About Us: LifeSiteNews.com is a mission-driven non-profit organization dedicated to producing high-quality, impactful video content. We are looking for a talented and passionate Camera Operator and Video Editor to join our video team at our Barry's Bay, Ontario facility.


Position Overview: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both shooting and editing video, with the ability to work under tight deadlines. The primary focus of this role is camera operation, with additional responsibilities in video editing. Candidates must be able to live near Barry's Bay, Ontario, and report daily to our news studio. Some travel will be required to capture original video content.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up studio video, audio, and lighting for in-studio interview shows.
  • Assist with live streaming using Zoom, Wirecast Pro, and OBS (ReStream experience is a plus).
  • Edit weekly video podcasts.
  • Gather and implement news clips, B-Roll, and other media.
  • Film occasional on-location video projects.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in documentary and/or cinematic filmmaking using DSLR or cinema cameras (Sony FX and A7s series preferred).
  • Proficiency in maintaining 3-point lighting, with an emphasis on depth of field.
  • Expertise in recording and mastering audio, with a strong understanding of recording equipment.
  • Ability to cover news events independently or with an on-camera correspondent.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects skills are a plus).
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and travel as needed.
  • Willingness to cover controversial topics.
