Location: Channel Islands

Salary: Up to 72,000 GBP, commensurate with experience

Job Type: Permanent

Job Summary:

As the leader of the Asset Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, quantifying and monitoring future asset investment requirements. As the Asset Manager, you will ensure the effective management of assets throughout their lifecycles, focusing on growth, connection requirements, asset condition and performance, legal obligations and best practice.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the asset management change programme and report regularly on its progress.
  • Manage and continuously improve the Asset Management System, integrating it with the maintenance management system (Agility).
  • Update and monitor asset management policies, strategies, initiatives and work plans to align with our Business Plan.
  • Identify expenditure needs from the asset base, including network capacity, security, stability, output quality and compliance.
  • Oversee asset management plans for implementing strategy and objectives.
  • Support Operations and Capital budget planning through asset management plans and intelligence.
  • Co-ordinate asset management plan outputs for Capital and Revenue interventions.
  • Support strategic and long-term asset-related investments, prioritising company investments.
  • Oversee the provision of non-financial information, governance and responsibilities for asset data and IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain the asset inventory, including condition, performance, risk, maintenance strategies and financial forecasts.
  • Manage the development of hydraulic models.
  • Lead the team, providing strategic and technical advice and ensure high Health & Safety standards.
  • Be accountable for the Asset Management Team's revenue budget and exercise financial governance.


Key Criteria:

Essential:

  • Over 8 years of professional Asset Management experience in pumps and pipes.
  • HNC / HND/ Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related qualification with relevant postgraduate experience.
  • Experience in a senior management role.
  • Extensive knowledge in asset management within an engineering, building environment, hydropower, water treatment, water distribution or sewerage systems.
  • Strong knowledge of pumps and pipes.
  • Strong planner, influencer and budget management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate.
  • Significant project leadership experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic planning abilities.
  • Experience in strategic and technical solution development and advice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Experience in managing and developing a small team.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Channel Islands


Desirable:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Certificate or Diploma from the Institute of Asset Management.
  • Chartered Membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Knowledge of the water and wastewater industry or similar utilities-based organization.
  • Practitioner skills in project management methodology (PRINCE2).
  • Knowledge of Procurement Policies and Procedures.
