Senior DevOps Engineer – FinTech Scale-Up Out of New York (FULLY REMOTE)

(Compensation up to £250,000)


I’m currently working with one of the fastest-growing scale-ups within the finance industry.


They offer a unique fixed-income trading application that utilises an all-encompassing machine-learning-based platform for negotiating, receiving, and executing trades entirely electronically! The platform has generated over $20 billion in trading volumes consecutively over the last 5 months, so extremely lucrative.


They’ve just been backed and heavily funded by several leading financial institutions like BlackRock to embark on “Phase 2” of their movement.


Role:


The organisation is expanding at a rapid rate, with thousands of lines of code being written on a daily basis expanding the internal services, whilst growing in complexity. You will be working within a start-up team within the firm, you will be responsible for designing, building, handling, and optimising all areas around ‘Developer Experience’.


Naturally looking for a ‘Senior DevOps Engineer’, who has extensive experience in continuous delivery, bringing an analytical and innovative approach to enhancing the developer experience through optimising the CI/CD pipelines to work in tangent withy the growth and progress of the business.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Provide brand-new recommendations to the current Jenkins applications.
  • Use Bazel to build, test, and deploy applications.
  • Create and improve internal build processes resulting in better speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Deploy, maintain, and champion tools to improve code quality and security.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
  • Ideal commercial experience using Bazel.
  • Programming experience is desirable (Scala, Python or Go is preferable).
  • Track record in building processes to achieve faster, more reliable, and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Solid background focsuing on DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS is preferred).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with development teams.
