Job Description
Digital Media Art Director
Join a growing company with opportunity for design & execution ownership in the digital/online printing space
Let’s start with who Digital Room is:
Digital Room is an online printing company with a variety of brands which sell print products. Essentially, our customers purchase brochures (or post cards, flyers, posters, vinyl banners, business cards, tumbler mugs, hats, jackets and so on), and either upload their artwork to get printed or design the artwork online in our design studios. It is the Digital Media Art Director and Digital Media Design team’s job to convey the characteristics and attributes of the product in visual ways…the thickness or rigidity of, in this case, the paper used for brochures, as an example.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
We are interviewing candidates who have brand-, print- and product photography-focused Art Director experience with a high visual design aesthetic. The Art Director will also have experience in 3D product image generation or professional photoshoots (or both) and will lead our Digital Media team of 8 full-time and contract designers so managing designers who will report to you as their manager is also experience you should have. Role reports to the Senior Creative Director.
The Art Director role takes ownership of (not limited to, but primarily) product image delivery across 10 brands with hundreds of printed products each. This role also takes ownership of product image strategy and not just product image creation…think product photography with scene development (placing the product in an appropriate scene or scenario to convey the story or attribute of an aspect of a product).

- Ensure accurate documentation, tracking, and scoring of completed work
Leadership, Coaching & Team Development
- Conduct regular 1:1 coaching and mentoring sessions with designers to support skill development, performance improvement, and career growth
- Act as a technical and creative authority for the team, setting standards and modeling best practices
- Work closely with the Director of Creative and Creative Leads to align on priorities, performance, and strategic direction
- Collaborate with operations and insights teams to gather feedback, identify recurring issues, and continuously improve quality and efficiency
- Approve HRIS-related items and support people operations processes as required

- Partner with category managers and stakeholders to develop and refine briefs for strategic initiatives such as the UP Top 20 Image Strategy
- Align with cross-functional teams to ensure creative solutions support business objectives and customer needs
