Position Overview

We are looking for a Power BI Developer Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team, supporting Daikin Applied America. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models with a strong focus on user experience, consistency, and data visibility.

You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical solutions, leverage large datasets to generate actionable insights, and contribute to data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Data & Analytics and requires strong expertise in data visualization, analytics, and modern data platforms such as Databricks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic data models.
• Create wireframes and dashboards with a strong emphasis on user experience, clarity, and consistency.
• Build efficient queries and consolidate multiple dashboards into unified semantic models.
• Develop robust data models and implement advanced DAX calculations to support business intelligence needs.
• Document report logic, data models, and analytical methodologies to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Provide data-driven recommendations and contribute to business strategy through analytical insights.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to data sources, data loading, and visualization logic.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing Power BI reports to align with evolving business needs.
• Ensure data governance, security, and access controls, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace permissions.
• Support performance tuning and optimization to improve report usability, scalability, and load times.
• Guide and support teams adopting Power BI, promoting best practices in report design, modeling, and deployment.
• Perform upgrades to incorporate new Power BI features while maintaining security and platform stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with large datasets and transforming raw data into meaningful insights.
• Strong hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Experience working with Databricks and modern data platforms.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Python.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in large datasets.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving performance and configuration issues in BI environments.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of access management, security configuration, and compliance within cloud environments.
• Experience with Power BI governance, security models, and enterprise-scale deployments.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
• Experience working with global and distributed teams.
• Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage priorities and deliver on time.
