Senior Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Administrator

We are seeking an experienced AKS Administrator to join our team. This role requires a hands-on technical professional with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing multi-tenanted Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting secure tenant isolation strategies, implementing robust governance frameworks, and maintaining enterprise-grade AKS infrastructure that serves multiple clients and business units while ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Tenant AKS Architecture & Management

• Design and implement multi-tenant AKS cluster architectures with strong tenant isolation boundaries
• Establish and enforce tenant segregation strategies using namespaces, network policies, and RBAC
• Implement hard and soft multi-tenancy models based on security and compliance requirements
• Design resource quotas, limit ranges, and pod security standards per tenant
• Manage tenant onboarding and offboarding processes with automated provisioning
• Implement tenant-specific monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Design and maintain tenant billing and chargeback mechanisms through resource tracking

Tenant Isolation & Security

• Design and implement network segmentation strategies using Azure CNI, network policies, and Azure Firewall
• Configure private endpoints and private link services for tenant-specific Azure resources
• Implement Pod Security Admission and security contexts for workload isolation
• Establish tenant-specific service mesh configurations for traffic management and security
• Configure Azure AD integration with tenant-specific RBAC and authentication boundaries
• Implement admission controllers and policy enforcement using Azure Policy for Kubernetes or OPA Gatekeeper
• Manage tenant-specific secrets isolation using Azure Key Vault with CSI drivers and managed identities

Infrastructure as Code

• Develop and maintain Terraform modules for multi-tenant AKS provisioning and management
• Create reusable tenant deployment templates with parameterised configurations
• Implement infrastructure automation following multi-tenancy best practices
• Manage Terraform workspaces for tenant and environment separation
• Build validation frameworks to ensure tenant boundary compliance

Automation & Scripting

• Develop Azure PowerShell scripts for multi-tenant infrastructure management
• Create automated tenant provisioning and deprovisioning workflows
• Build tenant-specific monitoring dashboards and alerting automation
• Implement automated resource quota management and enforcement
• Develop compliance reporting and audit trail automation
