About the opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Golang Engineer to join our FDS Data team. In this role, you will build flexible, scalable, and reliable loyalty capabilities to support our business partners. You will focus on developing loyalty and promotions platforms across the organization ecosystem to enhance fan re-engagement.
Please note this position is for an allocation period of 3 months.
Responsibilities:
- Influence business and technology direction within the team and across multiple teams.
- Lead architectural and design discussions and decisions, ensuring solutions are robust, stable, scalable, and cost-effective.
- Utilize data to drive decision-making and improvements, maintaining high-quality data and software assets.
- Establish and enforce strong privacy and security rules for projects.
- Communicate complex technical issues at an abstract level with non-technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate agreement among project stakeholders regarding the future state.
- Allocate time to support multiple projects across departments.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong programming experience in Golang (preferred) and Java (desirable).
- Hands-on experience with gRPC, Goroutines, Go Channel Patterns, Distributed Systems, RDBMS, and NoSQL databases.
- Demonstrate competent problem-solving skills, including debugging, analysis, and instrumentation, beyond self-written code.
- Expertise in identifying project risks, researching and contributing to industry standards, and proposing and implementing suitable prototypes.
- Ability to maintain up-to-date technical documentation for features.
- Take ownership of the quality of solutions or features being implemented.
Nice to Have:
- Ability to proactively seek opportunities to improve ecosystems at an enterprise level.
- Comfortable serving as the go-to person for Senior Leadership.

A reasonable estimate of the current range for a Golang Engineer from Canada to 80k to 190k per year.
