QA Engineer - Manual Testing

We are looking for a proactive and independent QA Engineer who is comfortable working in an environment with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. This role is a great fit for someone who does not wait for detailed instructions, but instead actively proposes solutions, initiates communication, and drives quality-related improvements. You will work closely with the client-side CTO and Project Manager, which requires strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to operate effectively in partially unstructured processes. The position is focused on manual testing with a strong expectation to grow into automation and actively work with it.

About the project:

Our client is developing an analytics platform to fight anti-Semitism and alike manifestations in the United States. The platform helps identify possible threats to Jewish communities through analyzing the information in various media for potentially dangerous individuals who can cause harm or are planning to do it against Jews in the United States.

Your area of responsibility:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the web application to ensure product quality and reliability;
• Perform manual testing to identify and report bugs, issues, and usability problems;
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide valuable input during the development process;
• Identify, document, and prioritize test scenarios, taking into account different use cases and edge cases;
• Test multiple subsystems of the product and coordinate testing activities with different teams involved in development;
• Actively initiate communication with client-side stakeholders (CTO, Project Manager) to clarify requirements, raise questions, and propose testing-related solutions;
• Take ownership of testing activities and quality-related decisions.

Skills and requirements:

• 3+ years of proven experience as a Manual QA Engineer, with a focus on testing web applications;
• Willingness to learn and work with test automation, or experience in automation with readiness to perform manual testing;
• Experience working with command line in Linux;
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and best practices in an Agile development environment;
• Solid knowledge of different testing types, including functional, regression, performance, and usability testing;
• Experience with bug tracking systems and test management tools to track defects and manage test cases efficiently;
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD processes;
• Experience working in a distributed team environment and communicating with multiple stakeholders across teams;
• High level of proactivity, independence, and ability to work effectively in partially unstructured processes;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues effectively;
• Upper-Intermediate English level or higher.

Will be a plus:

• Interest in developing automation skills and applying them in practice as part of the QA process;
• Experience in test automation or readiness to combine automation with manual testing.
