Position Overview
X is seeking a highly skilled MFT / Enterprise Job Scheduling Engineer to support and modernize its enterprise job scheduling and Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms. This role is heavily hands-on and focused on system administration, infrastructure support, and platform migration.
The engineer will play a key role in consolidating MFT systems, with GoAnywhere serving as the primary platform as File Gateway and Cleo are migrated into it. The environment is strongly cloud-focused, leveraging AWS services and infrastructure automation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and administration of enterprise job scheduling and Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms.
- Lead and support the migration of File Gateway and Cleo into GoAnywhere, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable file transfer operations.
- Administer and configure GoAnywhere MFT, including workflows, security, access controls, and integrations.
- Support AWS-based infrastructure utilizing EC2, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools to manage system configuration, deployments, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible and Python to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with internal infrastructure, security, and application teams to support enterprise data movement and scheduling needs.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise security standards, operational best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Document configurations, processes, and migration activities to support long-term maintainability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms, with GoAnywhere as the primary or preferred solution.
- Experience migrating legacy MFT platforms such as File Gateway and Cleo.
- Solid experience working in AWS environments, including EC2, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Hands-on automation experience using Ansible and Python.
- Experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
- Strong system administration skills with a focus on infrastructure maintenance and platform stability.
- Ability to work in a production support environment, with approximately 80% focus on system support and migration activities.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in Des Moines, IA in a hybrid model (3 days per week).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise job scheduling tools.
- Background working in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance requirements in regulated industries.
