Our client, backed by venture capital on a global scale, specializes in deep tech applications that leverage frontier technology and AI research to tackle significant issues in digital health. They are unveiling an advanced digital health platform that utilizes selfie images for screening various disease states, such as active COVID-19 infection, with results available in under 30 seconds.
The Role
We're on the lookout for a skilled leader to lead our clients computer vision team, accelerating the global launch of their new platform in key markets. Your focus: drive the development of cutting-edge medical screening solutions and contribute to their expansion into new disease states. The ideal candidate have a solid background in Computer Vision, with a bonus for digital health experience.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and mentoring to the Computer Vision team
Lead the Computer Vision team and contribute effectively in the research and development of Computer Vision components
Developing algorithms for image segmentation, object detection, recognition, and tracking especially on images of human eyes
Contribute to setting the scope and direction of the research together with improving the core product
Identify appropriate models to be used and improve model accuracy for the their platform
Review developer's code in the team to ensure highest code quality in Computer Vision components
Implement and verify algorithm performance in clinical settings
Requirements
Must have:
Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Robotics or related fields
At least 8+ years of research experience as a Computer Vision engineer/researcher
Proven track of record in top academic conferences/publications (ideally in the field of Computer Vision in Medical Imaging)
Experience with a wide variety of Deep Learning Models (i.e. LSTM, RNN, CNN, GAN, etc.)
Strong knowledge of the computer vision techniques (i.e. object detection, object tracking, classification, image segmentation, etc.)
Experienced in use of Machine learning and computer vision frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, etc.
Skilled software developer with experience in C/C++, Python and/or CUDA
Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice To Have
Experience leading engineering teams
Having prior experience of processing eye images / outer surface of the eyes
Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS (GCP or Azure)
