LLM Engineer (Mixtral) in IRELAND

Remote 1 year ago

About the role

We’re looking for a remote (EEA) LLM developer to build a chatbot which can be used to query climate/weather data, scientific and technical documentation, and government policies using RAG, and likely using ReAct to query data APIs.

The position is an initial 12 month full time contract with the potential to extend. We can onboard employees in Ireland and contractors throughout the EEA.

In the role you will

  • Build a bleeding edge LLM app as part of an EU government project.
  • Be part of a small team including a product manager and a front end developer.
  • Work autonomously to solve problems and turn user requirements into code.
  • Work directly alongside users.
  • Design and develop new features from scratch.
  • Improve the codebase with refactoring, bug fixes, and optimization.
  • Contribute to the product strategy by combining your tech skills with your understanding of user needs.

Preferred skills & experience

Must have

  • Demonstrable experience using Mistral/Mixtral to build RAG chatbots which can query data APIs and respond to user questions with graphics and tables as well as text.
  • Demonstrable experience dealing with model hallucinations and instructing an LLM to refuse to engage with improper/inappropriate input.
  • A sense of urgency: you’re a responsive communicator and work quickly.
  • An ability to thrive in ambiguity, tackling problems that might not be well defined and without obvious solutions.
  • You’re a fast learner.
  • Fluency with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
  • You like to work remotely using Slack and Notion.

Nice to have

  • You’ve worked with geospatial data before.
  • You’ve built government software before.

Why join us?

  • We’re a fully remote company.
  • We work in a small team, startup environment.
  • No endless meetings.
  • 35 days holiday per year.
  • You’ll grow professionally and personally, by enhancing your tech skills and expanding your global network.
