Laravel Developer | Remote in PHILIPPINES

We are seeking an experienced Laravel developer to join our IT team on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions for a range of applications.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using Laravel
• Implement complex features within applications
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for frontend applications and third-party services
• Ensure code quality through reviews, adherence to standards, and best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Optimize application performance and scalability
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Design and manage databases, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval
• Write efficient queries and migrations using Laravel's Eloquent ORM
• Lead and mentor junior developers
• Foster a collaborative team environment
• Provide technical guidance and support to the team
• Work closely with project managers to plan and execute development projects
• Provide accurate estimates and ensure timely delivery
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients and product managers
• Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and other team members
• Work with DevOps teams to deploy and maintain applications
• Continuously learn and improve skills related to Laravel, PHP, and other technologies
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Contribute to development workflows and tools
• Implement security best practices in application development
• Conduct regular security audits and address vulnerabilities
• Extensive experience with PHP, particularly with Laravel
• Deep understanding of Laravel’s architecture, features, and best practices
• Experience with Laravel’s Eloquent ORM, Blade templating engine, and Artisan command-line tool
• Proficient in SQL and experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others
• Ability to design efficient database schemas and write optimized queries
• Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of API authentication and security best practices
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks/libraries like Vuejs or React is a plus
• Proficiency with Git and version control best practices
• Experience with automated testing frameworks like PHPUnit
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or others) is beneficial

• 5+ years of experience in web development with a strong focus on Laravel
• Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior developers
• Experience with project management tools (JIRA) and methodologies (eg, Agile, Scrum)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team environment
• Leadership skills to guide and mentor team members
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
• Equivalent work experience is also considered in lieu of formal education
• Certifications related to Laravel, PHP, or web development are a plus but not a hard requirement
