The Director of Marketing will bring marketing knowledge, tactics and tech from best-in-class start-ups to serve the cause of putting real food on the table for the nation’s kids. Between establishing and maintaining the company’s integrated annual calendar, defining the company’s segments and lifecycles, hacking culture through social prowess, and finding new ways to drive fundraising, this person will pioneer a modern, creative, and brand-led model of non-profit marketing. Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Primary Responsibilities
Integrated Marketing Programming
Confirm and develop audience profiles to make them insightful, data-driven, and actionable.
Work with peers to co-create annual strategy that establishes Marketing in service of Program, Recruiting, and Fundraising goals.
Find creative ways to break through with the company’s brand and message, driving exponential gains in the company’s sub list, follower count, impressions, and community donations.
Wield brand awareness through partnerships and owned channels to establish the company as the premier school food and food systems change non-profit.
Marketing Operations and Processes
Define and refine the entire Marketing Ops process, from annual planning all the way through content concepting, approvals, posting and analytics.
Dial in cross-functional strategy, team reviews, and CEO involvement to deliver engaging, culturally relevant, high-performing social content as efficiently as possible.
Team Stewardship and Marketing Org Design
Collaborate with the company’s executive team on the direction of the organization, communication cascade to Board and team, and cross-functional projects like annual strategic planning.
Design the company’s marketing team from the ground up, defining the most agile, excellent, and cost-effective mix of FTEs, consultants, and creatives to achieve the company’s brand awareness, access, advocacy, and fundraising goals.
Direct and develop team members to grow in their roles and their careers.

Requirements
10+ years experience in Marketing, start-up experience preferred.
