About the Role
ChabezTech is expanding its in-house Space & Defense engineering programs and is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support the design, integration, and testing of spacecraft avionics and spaceflight hardware developed internally by our engineering teams.
This role focuses on building and maintaining Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and automated test systems used to verify mission-critical hardware throughout development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop EGSE test systems for ChabezTech’s internal space programs
- Create LabVIEW VIs for instrument control, monitoring, and test automation
- Develop Python or C scripts to support automated test execution
- Design and integrate test hardware including:
- COTS instruments
- Custom test enclosures and cabling
- Interfaces to SBCs, cPCI-based avionics, and EPS hardware
- Support testing of embedded systems used in spacecraft avionics
- Author Integration & Test Plans, Environmental Test Plans, and Acceptance Test Procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 7–10 years of test engineering experience
- Strong experience with LabVIEW
- Experience with Python or C
- Background in circuit board / hardware design
- Familiarity with cable design and documentation (Visio)
- Self-driven with strong ownership of deliverables
Preferred Experience
- EGSE or automated test systems
- VxWorks or real-time embedded systems
- FPGA / VHDL exposure
- Space, aerospace, or defense programs
