SUMMARY

Valkyrie Industries is an ambitious deep-tech company based in London developing haptic technology for virtual simulations (VR & AR). Our mission is to create the best wearable muscle haptics technology and to scale this across healthcare, gaming and entertainment.


Our first consumer-ready units are scheduled to ship this year aimed towards the recovery and rehabilitation market.


THE ROLE

We're looking for an outstanding electronics engineer with a passion for wearables to join the team. The work will require electronic hardware and firmware design in both the digital and analog domains. Additionally, you will be involved in the design for manufacturing, supply chain management and mass manufacturing of our devices. You'll be involved in optimising existing projects, creating new versions of the product, prototyping and developing new products.


This role has great potential for career growth with a possibility of becoming a Head of Hardware.


You will be part of an energetic and creative team designing revolutionary haptic devices for sports and rehabilitation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibility will be to develop electronics for the state of the art wearable haptic products. There will be demanding technical requirements in areas including electronics prototyping, cost reduction & manufacturing, Bluetooth functionality, writing firmware as well as managing freelance engineers.


You will be working closely and effectively with CTO, CEO, mechanical and industrial engineers and software development team, developing, testing and verifying the state-of-the-art technology.


It will be important to be able to break projects down into stages with clear deliverables/dependencies and deliver project work to committed timescales.


PERSONAL PROFILEExperience & Personality:

  • 4+ years in electronics design
  • An interest in human-computer interfaces and/or wearables
  • High degree of autonomy and self-motivation

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Be able to design a hardware device from scratch
  • Strong proven C programming experience with experience programming embedded firmware
  • Experience with ESP-IDF
  • Experience with RF / BLE protocols
  • Knowledge of Altium / KiCad / Eagle or Solidworks
  • Solid understanding of Linux environment
  • An understanding of end of line testing and PCBA verification
  • Excellent multi-disciplinary team working (mech, SW, QA, factories) and communication skills

Desired skills and experience

  • Experience of commercial electronic design and manufacturing
  • Experience in medical devices compliance and certification
  • Degree in EEE or similar
  • ESP32 protocols
  • Design of wearable electronics
  • Design of electro-muscular stimulation systems
  • 3D design

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • 25 days a year holiday 

Salary: 

  • Negotiable depending on experience
  • £45,000.00 ~ £60,000.00 pa depending on the experience + Share options.
