Team And Job Overview

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

  • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
  • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organizatio
  • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
  • Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

The Chapter Lead (Director), Data Delivery Enablement within the Enterprise Data Operations & Technology (EDOT) group, serves as the leader of a team comprising Business Data Analysts and Data Delivery Enablement individuals. The primary focus lies in fostering skills and people development within the Chapter while continuously enhancing the overall Chapter discipline.

This role holds significant responsibility in ensuring the smooth delivery of data across the organization. By leading the data delivery enablement component for data initiatives, the Chapter Lead empowers teams to access relevant data timely, facilitating informed decision-making and driving business value. Moreover, the role strengthens the connection between EDOT’s data delivery DataOps team, Enterprise Data Platform team and business stakeholders.

Aligning closely with business objectives, the team ensures that data initiatives and operations meet the strategic data needs of the organization by understanding business requirements and translating them into actionable data delivery outcomes, including understanding the data requirements from business for enterprise data initiatives such as CRM, MDM and other data initiatives for EDOT group’s Enterprise Data Platform and DataOps Delivery teams to execute and deliver on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with EDOT Family Product Owners (FPOs), Data Advisors, and Data Delivery Leads to formulate and execute data delivery enablement strategies, including transformational and operational data needs, aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership, including performance management, for a team of Business Data Analysts and POs, fostering their development and ensuring sustainability. Inspire, motivate, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Articulate complex data concepts to non-technical business stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and influence decision-making across all organizational levels.
  • Manage team funding and adjust size or scope to stay within budget constraints.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills, grow professionally, and achieve their potential.
  • Develop and communicate a compelling vision for data delivery inspiring teams to work towards common goals and objectives.
  • Manage business risks and challenges associated with data initiatives, identifying risks proactively, developing mitigation strategies, and making informed decisions.
  • Deliver measurable results and value to the organization by setting clear objectives, tracking key performance indicators, and driving accountability to achieve desired outcomes.

Screening Criteria

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience with a recognized reputation as an data solutioning expert, including MDM solutioning, preferably in the Informatica platform, in delivering high-quality data solutions.
  • Deep knowledge and experience of master data management principles, data integration technologies, data governance frameworks, and emerging trends in data management and analytics.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and other relevant teams, fostering alignment and synergy to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and understanding of Agile practices.
  • Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French).

Assets

  • Scrum Alliance, CSPO Certification or other relevant certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodology and tools.
  • Knowledge of key data technologies such as Azure Data Lake or other emerging data technologies.

Salary Range

  • Chapter Lead 20: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $124,273 To $165,696 plus a performance-based incentive.

Location

  • Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
  • This role may be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Montreal or Toronto.
