The Advanced Lead Gears and Shaft mechanical Designer's prime responsibility will be to perform design activities related to gears of aeronautical mechanical power transmissions for future applications and lead hardware procurement for technology demonstrators (flight demos included).

Essential Responsibilities
In addition you will:
- Use your technical knowledge expertise on gears and shafts for aeronautical power gearboxes
- Execute technical feasibility studies and concept design of mechanical transmission components, with a focus on gears design, for next engine opportunities (Next Gen Narrow Body, Hybrid Electric platforms)
- Design sub-system and components identifying alternatives, agreeing upon design CTQs, scoring and down-selecting optimal solution to achieve product performance/cost/weight.
- Capture system requirements, flow-down to components definition identifying relevant validation needs
- Execute detailed design of GBX components for test vehicles and technology maturation needs
- Proactively manage activities with other departments and suppliers (concurrence design)
- Issue the technical documents relative to the components design according to engineering policies and procedures (presentations as well as analysis reports)
- Contribute to and participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
- Manage source technological substantiation and non-conformances assessments (MRB)
- Train new hires on gears and shafts design
- Lead activities related to development findings, components performance and investigations (test requests, test data postprocess, laboratories investigation)
- Use of design tools: CAD as Unigraphics NX, and CAE as Nastran, Ansys and in-house S/Ws. Transmission 3D for gears micro-geometry design
Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university or High School technical Diploma with relevant experience in a similar role
- Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations
- Experience on supply chain processes and HW procurement
- Have strong engineering outlook, hands-on engineering foundation and eager to learn
- Clear thinking and diligent approach
- English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required

Responsibilities will include growing the CSA productivity pipeline through project identification, management, and application to the CSA financials. Develop the Cost Genba schedule based on data analysis and own/lead events in overhaul and repair shops around the world to drive cost out. The role will include growing a network across various functions of the Aviation business, understanding the product line, partnering with the Services business, Engineering, Product Line and MRO shops to deliver cost out strategies and execution for Time on Wing (TOW) projects, Engine Workscoping and Engine maintenance costs.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Significant experience in the Services & Services Project Management or commercial area
- Shop Floor experience, and in particular MRO experience is highly preferred
- Experience working with cross functional teams and Senior Executives
