Role Overview

A leading technology company is seeking a hands-on Security Architect to define, evolve, and drive security architecture across cloud-based platforms. This is not a purely advisory or policy-focused role — the client is looking for someone who actively leads from within the team and works closely with engineers day-to-day.

You will ensure security is embedded into the full software development lifecycle, guide teams in secure cloud-native practices, and collaborate closely with cybersecurity units and technical stakeholders. You are expected to be an integral part of the delivery team, not operating as a remote compliance function.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve the security architecture aligned with:

• Customer requirements
• Regulatory obligations
• Internal policies and standards

Embed security across the entire SDLC using secure-by-design and cloud-native principles.

Act as a practical security leader, enabling teams through guidance, design support, and direct technical involvement. Identify, assess, and manage security risks and vulnerabilities.

Drive mitigation plans and ensure required security controls are implemented in real systems.

Collaborate closely with

• Central CyberSecurity team
• Solution architects
• Technical stakeholders and engineering teams

Evaluate new technologies and third-party tools from a practical architecture and security engineering perspective.

Lead design and architecture reviews with focus on

• Threat modelling
• Security controls
• Long-term maintainability

Support:

• Detection capabilities
• Incident response preparedness
• Security resilience improvements
• Security assessments and audits

Contribute to security roadmaps and long-term platform strategy, ensuring plans translate into deliverable outcomes.

Profile

You are a proactive, collaborative hands-on Security Architect who:

• Brings senior-level experience in cloud-native environments
• Has strong expertise in AWS and working knowledge of Azure / multi-cloud environments
• Communicates clearly and leads by influence and example
• Works directly with developers, architects, and DevOps teams

You combine strategic thinking with practical execution and are not limited to theory, documentation, or compliance alone.

You have experience with:

• Risk assessments
• Threat modeling
• Architecture and design reviews

You document risks and decisions clearly, but you also take ownership of solutions and drive them to implementation. You are comfortable coaching distributed teams globally and making security decisions when required.
