YOUR ROLE

As a Software Development Engineer in Test on the Melba team, you will develop and maintain automated testing solutions for our proprietary ML and procedural content technologies. You'll ensure high-quality standards across diverse projects and support developers in achieving efficient test coverage through modern automation tools.

Your Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and champion an automated testing solution for a team developing technologies that utilize Machine Learning (ML) and procedural generation for content.
  • Support a variety of testing methods as required by different areas, including applications, games, servers, tools, rendering, image quality, and performance across multiple facets.
  • Guide and assist developers in using the testing framework to ensure comprehensive, valuable, and efficient test coverage.
  • Enable a quality-driven workflow for developers with minimal impact on productivity by leveraging automation and modern tooling.
  • Collaborate stakeholders to define what quality standards for all aspects of the projects.
  • Conduct quality audits to identify areas of improvements in quality through automation.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Proven track record in game industry, actively participating in the development and enhancement of automation infrastructure, contributing to more robust and reliable testing processes.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with commitment to maintaining transparent and comprehensive documentation in QA processes.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and common testing frameworks for both languages.

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Hands-on experience with common development and QA tools, including Jenkins, Visual Studio, Perforce, and Jira.
  • Practical experience with various modern game engines and tools, particularly for open-world games.
  • Experience in implementing quality assurance processes for Machine Learning datasets and models.
  • Knowledge of UX principles and testing methodologies to ensure the game meets technical quality standards and delivers an enhanced user experience.
