The Scope

We are looking for an engaged Market Intelligence Manager who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment. You will provide value added data analyses, aid market strategy building, and decision making, identify and translate market opportunities into actionable recommendations. Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead market intelligence from the business and market perspective to enable and/or facilitate the implementation of FSC global strategy, and support overall organizational success.
  • Continuous improvement and maintenance of global market intelligence (markets, regions, FSC offerings incl. certification and other forest solutions).
  • Manage the market intelligence area by producing market intelligence materials (incl. reports, dashboards, etc.) based on internal/external data sources to use for market development, and by coordinating market intelligence work with cross-functional teams at FSC to provide meaningful insights/recommendations that contribute to the development and refinement of strategic plans.
  • Create an FSC market performance report and conduct global market survey based on the inputs from FSC’s key external stakeholders to support management and the regions to understand how FSC performs and derive strategic insights/action plans.
  • Monitor trends and developments of key value chains and FSC’s performance against key metrics. 
  • Create and update comprehensive industry report, including market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces and analyze key countries’ market development status.
  • Collect unfulfilled market data needs and collaborate with IT team to improve data collection.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to identify unmet market needs/emerging needs and market challenges.
Your profile

Education and Training: 

  • University degree or equivalent training or experience in a relevant field, for example, Business Administration, Business consulting, Economics, Forest Product, Math, Engineering, Statistics.
Working Experience, Style and Skills: 
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in market intelligence, analytics, statistics and/or reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving and capable of translating findings to conclusions/recommendations. 
  • Strong analytical skills including experience in data analysis for market intelligence. 
  • Strategic and structured way of working.
  • Open-minded and communicative personality with a high degree of market orientation.
  • Proven professional abilities in managing complex projects in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience of predictive analytics is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of forest products’ markets.
  • Collaborative working style and team building skills.
Languages & Communication Skills:
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written). 
  • Spanish or French is a plus. 
 Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills). 
  • Tableau/Power BI
  • Prior experience with R, Python, or other related programming languages is a plus.

The Fine Print

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract – 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
