Job Purpose
The Sr. Engineer, Data Analyst plays a critical role in shaping the organization's data architecture strategy and ensuring that data assets are effectively managed, protected, and leveraged to drive business success. This position is responsible for providing expert guidance and leadership on all aspects of data architecture within the organization, including developing data models, database designs, data integration strategies, and data governance processes. The Sr. Engineer works closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data engineers, and other IT professionals to ensure that data architecture meets the needs of the organization and supports its strategic goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Designing and developing data models and databases that support business requirements and data analytics needs
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop data architecture solutions that align with business goals
- Defining and implementing data governance processes to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulations
- Evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies to improve data architecture and data management practices
- Leading the design and implementation of data integration solutions to enable seamless data flow across different systems and platforms
- Mentoring and coaching data architects and other team members on best practices in data architecture and data modeling
- Participating in cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that support business initiatives and improve operational efficiency
- Monitoring and optimizing database performance, scalability, and reliability to ensure high availability and data quality
- Collaborating with other IT teams to define data standards, data quality metrics, and data architecture principles that guide data management practices across the organization
- Staying current on industry trends and best practices in data architecture, data management, and data analytics to drive continuous improvement in data architecture practices
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience:
-Over 10 years of experience in data architecture, with a focus on mining and metals-related fields.
