Platform Operations Specialist & NOC Engineer (2nd Shift)
Shift: 2nd shift - 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM PST (Monday–Friday)
About the Role
We’re seeking a Platform Operations Specialist to join my client's growing team in support of the 24x7x365 monitoring and operations of their payment gateway platform. This is not an internal help desk role—your focus will be on ensuring the stability and performance of critical infrastructure and applications that power our payment systems.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and maintain platform health using industry-leading tools.
- Act as the first line of defense for technical issues—think of yourself as the “traffic cop” for all things technical.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
- Networking: Routing, switching, firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto)
- Infrastructure: Windows servers
- Web Applications: IIS or Apache
- Execute SQL queries to pull reports, analyze logs, and diagnose issues.
- Re-run failed jobs and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure uptime and performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: NOC (Network Operations Center) or similar operational support role.
- Technical Skills:Networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewalls
- Windows server administration
- Web application servers (IIS preferred)
- Basic SQL: ability to run queries and interpret logs
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, DataDog, Splunk, New Relic, or SolarWinds.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose misconfigured load balancers or similar issues.
- Soft Skills: High energy, proactive communicator—this is not a quiet role!
