About The Role

You’ll be the hands-on engineer implementing the PKI modernization plan. Working closely with the PKI Architect, you’ll configure AppViewX integrations with IIS, Apache, and Palo Alto, automate certificate installation workflows for public certs, and help refine any necessary manual processes where automation isn’t feasible.

What You Will Be Doing

• Implement AppViewX-based automation workflows for public certificate installation on IIS and Apache web servers.
• Configure and validate AppViewX ↔ Palo Alto integration to automate public certificate deployment for Palo Alto web server types.
• Inventory and document public/external certificates, including those suitable for ACME management and those requiring improved manual processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated certificate deployment flows across IIS, Apache, and Palo Alto.
• Contribute detailed steps and screenshots to the PKI Implementation Runbook, including best practices for future changes.
• Support validation and testing to ensure all automated certificate workflows function as intended before handoff.
  
  

What We Want To See:

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in PKI, TLS, and certificate management.
• Practical experience configuring certificates on IIS, Apache, and at least one major firewall platform (Palo Alto strongly preferred).
• Hands-on work with a certificate automation platform (AppViewX, Venafi, Sectigo, Keyfactor, etc.).
• Comfortable with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for cert deployment and validation tasks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in documenting implementation steps.
  
  

Technologies used in this role:

AppViewX automation workflows, IIS, Apache HTTP Server, Palo Alto platforms, ACME clients/flows, TLS/X.509, Windows & Linux server environments, PowerShell/Bash/Python, Git or similar for storing config/runbooks.

Bonus Points For

• Direct experience implementing AppViewX device integrations or workflows.
• Background in network/security engineering (firewalls, load balancers, reverse proxies).
• Familiarity with certificate lifecycle management in hybrid environments (on-prem + 3rd-party hosted).
