About Shredder:
Shredder has grown to over fifty thousand users in three months and is the most viral startup in the skiing and snowboarding space. We help riders track their stats, meet people at their level, and stay fully connected to mountain culture. We build fast, learn fast, and ship directly with our community.
About the role:
This is a full time, in person engineering role. You will live and work with the team in our Truckee hacker house for a minimum of six months. There is space to sleep, work, and build shoulder to shoulder with the founders and engineering team. We also take work trips around the world to stay creative and keep momentum high. After the hacker house phase, the role transitions into hybrid with continued in person collaboration. You must be fully committed to Shredder and cannot work part time for any other company.
About you:
You are early in your engineering career, hungry to learn, and ready to put in the work. Maybe you are just out of college, or you are thinking about leaving college because you want to build something that actually matters. You move fast, you take feedback well, and you are comfortable in React Native and willing to work with Convex. You want to grow under a Lead Engineer who ships at a very high pace. And you must ski or snowboard. We test features on the mountain and want someone who lives the culture we are building for.
What the role involves:
• Build features in React Native and support core development
• Work inside our Convex backend and help with logic, data, and integrations
• Fix bugs, implement designs, and handle day to day app improvements
• Collaborate closely with the Lead Mobile Engineer on architecture and performance
• Write clean, maintainable code and follow strong engineering standards
• Work with product and design daily to ship fast and iterate
• Join the team for on mountain testing and help shape the rider experience
• Contribute to a fast paced environment where updates ship constantly
What we are looking for:
• One to two years of mobile engineering experience or strong personal projects
• Solid understanding of React Native
• Willingness to work with Convex and pick it up quickly
• Experience building apps, school projects, or anything real you have shipped
• Excited to learn, grow, and take ownership of tasks
• Must ski or snowboard
• Must be willing to live in Truckee for six months and travel with the team
• Must be fully committed to Shredder with no part time roles elsewhere
• Ideally someone just out of college or ready to drop out to build something meaningful
Compensation:
We offer a base salary of seventy thousand per year plus equity options in Shredder. We cover relocation costs, provide full access to the hacker house, give a daily Uber Eats credit, and include a ski pass for the season.
