We are establishing a new algorithmic power-trading operation in Denmark. We are hiring a Founding Quantitative Engineer who will be responsible for building our entire trading platform from the ground up. There is no existing software, no existing infrastructure, and no existing models.

You will design, implement, and deliver the first working MVP of the system. If the MVP demonstrates profitability or strong potential, you will play a leading role in hiring and onboarding the engineering team that takes the platform to production level.

This role is open to applicants worldwide. Relocation to Denmark is required.

Responsibilities

·        Build the first version of the full trading platform (data ingestion, modeling, execution, and monitoring).

·        Implement data pipelines for weather, grid, and historical market data.

·        Develop short-term forecasting models and backtesting tools.

·        Build execution logic for day-ahead and intraday/real-time trading.

·        Implement basic risk controls and system-health monitoring.

·        Prepare the MVP for live testing and evaluate performance.

·        If successful, participate in hiring and onboarding engineers for the next phase.

·        Define long-term technical standards, architecture, and development practices.

Minimum Requirements

·        Strong proficiency in Python and C++ for performance-critical applications.

·        Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices.

·        Experience working with time-series data and related databases.

·        Solid background in mathematics, physics, statistics, or computer science.

·        Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and time-series modeling.

·        Ability to work independently and deliver reliable, maintainable systems.

·        Willingness to relocate to Denmark.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience building greenfield systems or end-to-end prototypes.

·        Exposure to trading systems, forecasting, or market-driven applications.

·        Experience working with large datasets (weather, telemetry, financial, etc.).

·        Interest in energy markets, grid dynamics, or applied forecasting.

·        Ability to grow into a technical leadership role.

What We Offer

·        A founding-level position with broad responsibility.

·        Full ownership of the initial system architecture.

·        A role that transitions into technical leadership if the MVP succeeds.

·        The opportunity to build something from zero and influence every stage of development.

·        Relocation support to Denmark.
